We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Dr. Carolina Muñoz to Shirley Rd Chiropractic as our new Integrative General Practitioner! Carolina is joining us to share her medical expertise and support you on your path to a healthier life.
Carolina trained as a medical doctor at El Bosque University in Bogotá, Colombia, and has practised medicine across two continents for more than 16 years — three years in Colombia and over 13 in Australia. What began as a conventional GP career for Carolina has evolved into something far more layered, shaped by clinical experience, personal transformation, and a deep curiosity about why people can remain unwell even when their test results are normal.
Carolina completed her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) after working as a rural GP in Tenterfield. She has also undertaken training with ACNEM (Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine), A5M (Australasian Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine), the Walsh Research Institute’s Bio-Balance Program, and ongoing continuing medical education. Carolina also completed a Diploma in Integrative Medicine through Champagnat University in Argentina.
Over the years, her practice has expanded to include nervous system regulation as a core framework for understanding health. She completed PSYCH-K® facilitation training, training in Somatic Experiencing, and trauma-informed meditation training, and brings a polyvagal-informed and trauma-sensitive lens — including trauma-informed meditation and movement — into all her consultations. For her, these aren’t separate modalities: they are the way she listens, and the way she works.
“What I’ve come to understand — through years of practice and my own journey — is that symptoms are often messages. The body is not betraying you. It is communicating. My role is to help you decode that, with both clinical rigour and genuine care.”
Carolina is a wonderful addition to Shirley Rd Chiropractic, perfectly aligning with our holistic approach to health and well-being and our focus on a better functioning nervous system.
To arrange a time to see Carolina, you can email her directly so that she can arrange a “Discovery call” to introduce herself and see how she may help.
