I recently entered the Wyong River Central Coast Paddlers 30km marathon kayak event.

It’s a lead-up event to the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic – an epic 111km paddle from Windsor to Brooklyn along the Hawkesbury River. In my attempt to persuade someone else to be as crazy as me, I paddled with a friend in the hope of convincing him to join me in a K2 for this journey.
It may work, because we won the Van Stappen Trophy for the fastest time overall (2hr 32min 24sec). A trophy that has been in existence since 1974. Now we just have to stay upright in our very tippy K2 and we might be a good chance to do a very competitive time for the Classic.
We shall see…
